The Chicago Bears have the 9th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft after trading down with the Carolina Panthers last month. I could see the Bears go in multiple directions with this pick if they keep this pick or their is also a possibility they could trade down again with a team who wants to trade up for a quarterback or a specific position pending who that team is.
If the Bears go edge rusher I would love Will Anderson from Alabama but he will definitely be gone by the time the Bears pick at 9. Tyree Wilson from Texas Tech is definitely a possibility at 9 or possibly Nolan Smith from Georgia either at 9 or wherever the Bears trade down to. I also could see the Bears go after Myles Murphy from Clemson for edge rusher.
If the Bears go with a defensive lineman Jalen Carter yes I love his talent but has huge character concerns after he was issued an arrest warrant for reckless driving. Lukas Van Ness from Iowa who can play both on the defensive line and be an edge rusher as well is another possibility for the Bears pending where they pick at.
I could see the Bears add more help in the secondary with the likes of Devon Witherspoon from Illinois who is a corner or Christian Gonzalez from Oregon also a corner back but I think if the Bears trade down from 9. Another name is Joey Porter Jr. from Penn State who could be a possibility.
If the Bears go wide receiver especially after getting Panthers WR DJ Moore who was part of that trade where the Bears traded down with the Panthers I could see Ohio State WR Jaxson Smith-Njigba as a possibility. Others wide receivers to keep an eye on pending where the Bears pick from are Boston Zay Flowers from Boston College, Quentin Johnston from TCU or Jordan Addison from USC.
If the Bears go on the offensive line I think it will come down between these 3 guys. Peter Skoronski from Northwestern who can play both as a tackle or as a guard. Paris Johnson Jr. from Ohio State is another possibility who would probably play offensive tackle if the Bears selected him or Broderick Jones from Georgia would also play offensive tackle if the Bears selected him. I see the Bears going in multiple directions here and let’s see what happens when the NFL Draft begins in Kansas City on April 27th.
