There are 3 weeks left in the 2022 NFL Season and wow it has been a great season so far. I think 5 teams can win it all. Yes the Buffalo Bills lost star pass rusher Von Miller to a season ending knee injury but as long as Josh Allen and that Bills offense continues to score so many points and continue to play well on defense, they will be a very tough team to beat. The Defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals look even better than last season’s team that went to the Super Bowl where they almost beat the Rams. Joe Burrow continues to get better and better, as long as he has an offensive line that gives him to time to throw the Bengals have a chance. Bengals defense is very underrated all across the board. Patrick Mahomes will take the Chiefs as far as he can. There defense still concerns me and the last 2 weeks they struggled to beat 2 teams with a losing record in the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans but they are still the Chiefs as long as #15 is upright.
As for the NFC teams I can really think it’s between the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers. Yes Tom Brady is still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but the Bucs don’t look that good at all even though they are in a very bad NFC South division. Dallas Cowboys yes have a really good offense led by Dak Prescott but sometimes Dak throws interceptions at critical times and there defense has struggled the last 2 weeks and they have crashed and burn in the playoffs where they haven’t been to the NFC Championship Game since 95-96 when they won it all. If Jalen Hurts can stay healthy the Eagles will be a very tough team to beat as this Eagles team has so many weapons on offense while their defense leads the league in sacks. Meanwhile yes the 49ers are down to their 3rd string quarterback in Brock Purdy who is Mr. Irrelevant where he was the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but so far he is playing very well as this 49ers offense has so many weapons while there defense is the best in all of the NFL. I think between the 49ers, Eagles, Chiefs, Bengals and Bills will win the Super Bowl.
I always love in sports a feel good story and their are 2 teams I am very proud of in the Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars where both of these teams still have a chance at the playoffs. Both the Lions and Jaguars only won a combined 6 games last season but this season has been an amazing turnaround. For the Jaguars they brought in former Super Bowl winning HC Doug Pederson to be the new HC for the Jaguars and that’s what Trevor Lawrence the top pick in the 2021 Draft needed to get his career going after a bad rookie year. Right now the Jaguars are 6-8 right behind the injury riddled Tennessee Titans who are 7-7 in the AFC South Division where these 2 teams meet in week 18 which could decide the division. If Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars can make the playoffs with some great talent around him on both sides of the ball they can be a tough out for someone in the playoffs as they are on a roll right now. As for the Detroit Lions what a story after starting the season 1-6, they are now 7-7 and they can make the still make the playoffs. One NFL writer says if the Lions make the playoffs give HC Dan Campbell Coach of the Year. This Lions offense is so potent led by quarterback Jared Goff who looks much better while the defense after a slow start has been playing better lately. Let’s see what happens as the NFL Playoffs are getting closer and closer.
