Bears Fire HC Matt and GM Ryan Pace whats next?

I knew the Bears would fire HC Matt Nagy because his offenses regresses year after year and wasn’t meant to be a head coach.  Bears GM Ryan Pace who has been with the Bears since 2015 had a horrible record of 48-65.  Matt Nagy had that one good year in 2018 going 12-4 where he won coach of the year but it all went downhill since.  Matt Nagy went 34-31 in his 4 years as Bears HC and 0-2 in the Playoffs.  Matt Nagy was mostly carried by a good defense with a below average offense. I thought maybe Ryan Pace would be given one more chance but that wasn’t the case.  Matt Nagy refused to coach former round first round quarterback Mitch Trubisky and made Justin Fields the Bears recent top draft pick fail by putting him in positions to fail. Matt Nagy was a terrible HC in terms of getting a productive offense which unfortunately was his downfall. Ryan Pace will be remembered for screwing up with the quarterback position and hiring Matt Nagy but he did have some good in both the draft and free agency but unfortunately not good enough in a win now league. Ryan Pace biggest mistake was during the 2017 NFL Draft where the Bears traded up one spot for unproven Mitch Trubisky over Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes big oops.

I will look more closely at who could replace Ryan Pace as the next GM, but in the meantime I will look at some candidates who could be the next HC of the Chicago Bears. I think former Bears quarterback and current head coach in Ann Arbor with the Michigan Wolverines Jim Harbaugh would be an excellent choice.  Jim use to be the head coach with the SF 49ers with a lot of good success before ownership ran him out of town, I hope the Bears would give him an interview but the big question is would he leave Michigan for the Bears job?  I think Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would also be another great candidate but will the Bears go after another Andy Reid assistant from Kansas City again after Matt Nagy failed???? Stay tuned.   I would hope the Bears interview there former special teams coach in the great Dave Toub who has the same position in Kansas City under Andy Reid.  Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels possibly would be a good a pairing for Justin Fields but I don’t know if the Bears will make a move for him.  I think Bucs defensive coordinator and former Jets HC Todd Bowles is a possibility along with Bucs offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Byron Leftwich.  I think also Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is a strong possibility or Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman.  I think one wildcard could work for the Bears is Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.  I one person I would not hire this is just me is Bill defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier who was also a member of the 85 Bears who played cornerback.  I personally like Frazier better as a defensive coordinator than a head coach because I just don’t think he is meant to be a head coach, he was the head coach for a couple of seasons in Minnesota but he never had a good quarterback to work with and only one playoff appearance.

I am just concerned with the Bears as they begin this search for another new HC and GM is that their longtime President Ted Phillips who I have been very critical of for over the years is still with the Bears and help with this search.  Bears Chairman Geroge McCaskey will lead the search but he did say that whoever will be the new general manager will be the entire football operation.  I do like that they are including Hall of Fame executive Bill Polian to help lead the search for the next HC and GM but I don’t trust George McCaskey who time after time has been screwing up on these things along with Ted Phillips.  Hopefully I am wrong on this but same old Bears led by the McCaskey family where they produce the same old results.
