College Football Playoff Picture heading into Week 12

Oklahoma suffered a devastating loss yesterday to Baylor in a matchup of ranked teams in Waco against the Baylor Bears.  Yes I know the Sooners suffered there first loss, of the season but I don’t see them getting into the College Football Playoff. This is huge news for the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats.  I will say going into Tuesdays third rankings I think it will be Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State in the top 4 and Cincinnati at 5 and I would say Michigan State at 6 if I had to guess the top 6.  Georgia took care of there business in Knoxville against the Vols, Alabama took care of there business against a cupcake in New Mexico State at home. Oregon won 38-24 at home against Washington State while Ohio State hung up 59 points on 19th ranked Purdue in Columbus. I was surprised to see Michigan State ranked below Michigan despite the Spartans beating the Wolverines head to head 2 weeks ago.

Ohio State which expects to remain in the top 4 has a huge game this Saturday against Michigan State at home at the Horseshoe. Michigan State will probably be ranked 6 or 7 come Tuesday night.  Oregon goes on the road to Salt Lake City to take on a underrated Utah Utes team where it will be a hostile environment.  Teams like Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State still have a chance to crash the College Football Playoff party.  Georgia’s biggest test won’t be until the Sec Championship game against likely Alabama but the Tide have a huge game this week against a ranked Arkansas team at home and on Thanksgiving weekend in the Iron Bowl against the Auburn Tigers on the road.  Ohio State still has Michigan to play as well on the road also on Thanksgiving weekend.  The Bearcats still play a underrated SMU team but unfortunately the Mustangs aren’t ranked in the AP or Coaches Poll which could hurt Cincinnati getting into the College Football Playoff but at least they beat Notre Dame on the road and the Irish are still winning which makes that win look really good on paper.  If I had to guess the final four when the rankings come out early December for the real thing I will say Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State assuming all 4 teams I just listed win out, if Alabama loses they are without a doubt out with 2 losses.   Still plenty of Football left, lets see what happens in theses next 2 weeks.
