LeBron James comes home to bring a Championship to Cleveland

What an amazing game 7 of the NBA Finals I saw, wow!!!!!!!!! LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team in NBA Finals to history to comeback from a 3-1 series deficit as the Cavs win their first tittle in franchise history with a 93-89 victory at Oracle Arena in Oakland California. For the first time since 1964, the city of Cleveland has a championship since the Cleveland Browns led by Jim Brown. The city of Cleveland has going through some rough times with The Drive, The Fumble, The Shot, The Blown Save and a lot of curses until now. In the meantime, the Golden State Warriors who won an NBA record of 73 wins, failed to repeat as NBA Champions. I don’t want to hear any more comparisons between them and the 95-96 Chicago Bulls who won 72 games and sealed the deal ever again. These Warriors can join the 2001 Seattle Mariners and the 2007 New England Patriots for having the most wins in the regular season and not winning the championship. What LeBron James did these NBA Finals including the last three games where his team was facing elimination was simply amazing.
Game 7 last Sunday on Fathers Day was one of the best NBA Finals games I have ever seen in all of my years of watching basketball. After scoring 41 points in each of his last two games, King James notched a triple double with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. King James becomes the thrid player in NBA history to have a triple double in a game 7 of the NBA Finals joining LA Laker legends Jerry West and James Worthy. In the final minutes of game 7 as Andre Iguodala was about to score, LeBron James made an amazing chase down block to keep the score tied at 89. After the Cavs got the rebound and called timeout, Cavs rookie head coach Tye Lue had the play in mind. With Stephen Curry guarding Kyrie Irving, Kyrie knew he had the match up advantage as he drained a huge three pointer to give the Cavs the lead. After reigning MVP Stephen Curry missed a potential game tying three pointer and Lebron James hit a foul shot to clinch the victory, the city of Cleveland can go celebrate. As the buzzer sounded LeBron James fell to the floor with emotion, as he was being interviewed by Doris Burke of ESPN/ABC he yelled “Cleveland this for you” after the Cavs won the title in shocking fashion. LeBron James was named unanimous MVP of the NBA Finals and now has three Finals MVP awards where I think he is clearly a top 10 NBA player of all time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers played amazing especially in the 2nd half where they outscored the Warriors 51-40 which included outscoring them in the 4th quarter 18-13 while holding the potent Warriors offense scoreless for the last four minutes of the game. Kyrie Irving was huge with 26 points, Kevin Love grabbing 14 rebounds while Richard Jefferson, Iman Shumpert and Tristan Thompson played amazing defense on the Warriors. While Dryamond Green played well with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists, he got no help from the splash brother Steph Curry and Klay Thompson as they combined for only 31 points while only making 6-24 shots from three point land. What I was really impressed with the most during this series was the Cavs threw multiple bodies at both Curry and Thompson to throw them off their game because we know they are deadly shooters. Curry in this series had more turnovers than assists. Meanwhile LeBron James led his team in all of the important categories, points, rebounds, assists, steals and block shots. That was amazing. Did the Cavs win this series or the did the Warriors choke it away? I think this was a combination of the Cavs winning this series and the Warriors choking it away. I was also really impressed while the Cavs were down 3-1 was they didn’t panic, they knew they had to win twice at Orcale Areana in Oakland California where it can be really noisy and tough to play at. So with the Cavs winning the tittle and breaking their curse, could this mean the Chicago Cubs are next???? We shall see.
