Oregon Loses, Cincinnati Come On Down

With #3 Oregon losing on the road in Salt Lake City to #23 Utah in ugly fashion, the Ducks hopes of going to the College Football Playoffs are all but gone.  Oregon did lose earlier in the year to a down Standford team which all but seals there fate and for the Pac 12 to go the College Football Playoff. #1 Georgia took care of there business as expected against Charleston Southern in easy fashion and #2 Alabama held off #21 Arkansas.  So the SEC Championship game is set for  Saturday December 4th as the Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Atlanta Georgia.  Alabama next week plays at Auburn while the Dawgs play at Georgia Tech and I expect both Georgia and Bama to take care of their business before the big game the following Saturday.  It’s very simple if Bama wins out they are in and Georgia will still be in the College Football Playoff, if Georgia beats Alabama then it is over for Alabama who already lost at Texas A&M earlier this season on a last second field goal.  I can’t wait to see this high flying Bama offense against the stingy Georgia defense which will be a lot of fun.

#4Ohio State today made a huge statement taking apart #7 Michigan State 56-7 in Columbus as CJ Stroud and that Buckeyes offense couldn’t be stopped while there defense only allowed one touchdown. Ohio State yes lost in week 2 to Oregon but that is now a distant memory as the Buckeyes resume is getting stronger and stronger and oh by the way they travel to Ann Arbor to take a on a highly ranked Michigan team which will be a huge game next Saturday as 10-1 meets 10-1.  Whoever wins this game will very likely win the Big 10 Championship Game and represent the Big 10 in the College Football Playoff. Michigan could jump to #4 comes Tuesday night but I think it will be the Cincinnati Bearcats who are yes still undefeated.  They crushed a 8 win SMU team 48-14 and now face a 7-4 East Carolina team on the road on Black Friday and are very likely going to face Houston in the American Athletic Championship Game on December 4th.  The Bearcats did sleepwalk in previous weeks but they finally showed up and I sure hope they are #4 come Tuesday night.  I think it will be on Tuesday night Georgia 1, Ohio State 2, Bama 3, Cincinnati 4, Michigan 5, Notre Dame 6 and Oklahoma State 7 if I had to guess the top 7.  Let’s see what happens on Tuesday night before Thanksgiving weekend.
