Playoff Run: Let’s Not Deal With Tie Breakers

Most of the league has four games left, some teams only have three games. The four teams I follow the closest all have four games left.

Golden State Warriors & Los Angeles Lakers

In a post back on March 21st I made it clear that I am rooting for the Warriors to knock the Lakers out. Well, Tuesday night would give them a good start on doing that because they play each other in Los Angeles tonight before both teams wind the regular season down leading into the Play-In Tournament.

There is still a slight possibility of the Lakers sneaking into the eighth seed and trading spots with the Sacramento Kings depending how the Kings, who have only won five of their last ten games, play in their last four games. This would put the Kings against Golden State and LeBron’s Lakers against the New Orleans Pelicans. I’d love to see the matchups change in this way and have the Lakers play the Warriors in Game two because they lost to the Pelicans.

Chicago Bulls

While the Bulls have only won four of their last ten games it looks like they have also clinched the ninth seed going into their last four games. With or without home court advantage in game one this gives the Bulls a chance at playing the Miami Heat in game two of the Play-In Tournament as long as they win against the Atlanta Hawks. At the end of the day whoever gets eight seed in the east will likely be knocked out by the Boston Celtics in the first round. However, it would be nice to see the Bulls who will likely be rebuilding this summer make it to the first round and lost to the best team in their conference.

Miami Heat

Since the 2019-2020 season when Jimmy Butler was playing for Miami I have always rooted for them because I loved him when he played for the Bulls early in his career. Whenever they play each other I take a neutral view since I want the Bulls to win but still love watching him play. That said, if they play each other in game two of the Play-In Tournament I will not be taking a very neutral view because of what I said above about the Bulls. I want to see current guys on the Bulls roster such as Alex Caruso and Nikola Vucevic. While both are under contract for next season it would still be nice to see them make their case in a playoff matchup against the best team in the east to not be traded.

With that…. the regular season is days from concluding!

If you cannot play with them, then root for them.
